Description

This is my second upload of a fisheye image, and like my previous one I took it this summer at Le Croisic, a small town in southern French Brittany, near Nantes. It is also the first of a short series of merry-go-round images.

I had little time to comment these times (perhaps in some days I hope to visit some of your galleries), so I want here to thank those of you who took some time to comment my pictures, and I wish them and to the whole Renderosity community a happy Christmas. For those who are in pain, suffer or met with death among people they love, I send them all my wishes to overcome these sad events and always remember that life can be meaningful even then. I am particularly indebted to: 1402dandoy, 2Loose2Trek, 3x3, 3DClassics, ACue, alpha102039, auntietk, billcody, blinkings, buju93, clam73, claude19, Claywoman, Danob, Darkwish, dbry6, dianthus, Domi48, dphoadley, DukeNukem2005, durleybeachbum, e-brink, efron_241, erlandpil, GiMi53, giovanino, helanker, Hubba1, JaneEden, Janiss, jd35400, jeroni, jocko500, junge1, Jydekris, KarmaSong, kasalin, kitzie21, ledwolorz, lior, M2A, Maff, MaraP, MagikUnicorn, marybelgium, mgtcs, mickuk50, Milouv, Minda073, Mondwin, moni2000, Mousson, MrsLubner, mtc, myrrhluz, netlauv, novelist, OUEST-CHRONICLER, PapaBlueMarlin, PIERRE25, pixelmeister, Porthos, PSDuck, ragouc, Richardphotos, rocserum, Rodolfo Ciminelli, Severine, shrinkers, sim3344, sirvictor, Svin, Sylvia, tennesseecowgirl, thecytron, THROBBE, tralfaz, UteBigSmile, VDH and zoren.

Joyeux Noel! Wonderful lighting in this. I love all the blue, and it brings back such fond memories of childhood--all the wonder and play and excitement of merry-go-rounds. Night time was always the best. I remember how I always felt disappointed when a ride began to slow down and the music would fade. This is magical. Thank you for your support as well.

Of course, Richard, at ISO 400 with a compact camera of 2002 (even if it's a professional-class model), there is a lot of noise… Difficult to avoid, nothing in common with the last SLR generation. Price too is not at all the same, here 75 euros for the Coolpix 5000 in nearly-new condition (in 2002, at least 500 euros) and 85 for the Nikkor FC-E8 fisheye lens. Guess what would be the price for only a Canon of Nikkor fisheye lens…

I love this image and the other from your book. This is perfect for the use of the fisheye lens as it exagerates the shape and gives a sureal look to a place that is already part fantasy. Your other images are wonderful too. I plan to come back and look some more. I loved the oyster fields and the Santa Clara blocks. The pictures of the Santa Clara blocks remind me of the way buildings look in the sculpture "Cloud Gate" in Chicago. I have pictures, but they are on film. I'm hoping to get my scanner for my birthday this summer. Here's one that Tara (auntietk) took. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1996607&comment_page=1#comments

Rebonjour, cher Edouard!
