The following storyline is incomplete, but it will give you an idea of what I had in mind as I put this image together.
E'mele pondered her new responsibility as surrogate birth mother to the the last human child. The embryo was implanted into her artificial womb by a dying scientist who was determined to save his unborn daughter, and perhaps--the human race.
She could feel the presence of the child within her; a slight shudder, a muscle reflex, the
soft--but determined beat of her tiny heart.
E'mele was part human herself, but the majority of her body was composed of genetically engineered components and tissues, quite powerful and almost indestructable. She, and others like her, were created to replace the Human race; the plan was for mankind to create super andriods, then transplant their minds from their weak and dying bodies into the newer model. But is was all done too late. Only a handfull like E'mele were created, and the transfer process was never perfected.
E'mele was given as complete a human brain as was possible, enhanced with computer processors and
memories that contained the entire library of Earth's combined sciences and history.
Humankind doomed themselves by the very genetic experimentations that they had hoped would one day save them. An uncontrolable plague swept the planet, no human was spared. Only this tiny infant, isolated from the plague, had survived.
She and E'mele are all that are left.
