Description

We are into the monsoon season here in Arizona, so I am trying to get some lightening with my Canon Powershot 530. On this the shutter was open for fifteen seconds. I took hundreds of shots on the chance that some of them would capture lightening.

Nice capture! I've only caught lightning (a decent catch) once before....lots of fun trying but disappointing not getting a good shot, lol

Thanks a lot for your good comments everyone. I am convinced the way to go is long exposure, although I have seen great pics done with motion detection. I am going to download a new operating system for my Canon camera and try to get longer exposures and smaller aperture settings because currently I cannot specify the aperture. The camera decides that.
