Description

This is to settle a disagreement between myself and another person. Indulge me please, and yes I know the image isn't finished. they are both 7 minute raw renders of poser objects. The top image uses method 1, and the bottom images uses method 2. Which do you prefer? let me know if you can in a comment below. Thanks , raj

This is a tough choice as they both look good but the top one gives a more natural look. The bottom one has more of a fill-light look to it. Top one for me.

light colored shiny floor light colored walls, sunlight coming directly in thru the window. seems to me that the bottom one has a more natural look - her hair face and shoulder have more light bouncing onto it as I would expect in this light colored room at this time of the day with direct sun enetring the window. the dark wood just under the piano keys, too. I would think you would have that slightly brighter haze due to the amount of light that would be boucing around in here.

I like her skin of the first one but the rest of the second one. With each of these 2 Renders you done a most fantastic job

they both appear very similar.. EXCEPT.. the top one is more detailed.. looking at the pillow and the floor.. and even the skin is just sharper and includes more detail.. Monica..

I would have to say method 1. 7 min render, I'm so jealous.

great scene... very sensual... and i prefer the first one, because her skin looks like porcelaine... fantastic light and the shadows are softer...

I'd say #1 looks definetly best, which shows especially on her skin. Great renders and beautiful posing!

I'd say the top one has about 1/2 - 2/3 of a stop or so less fill and I rather like it. Of course they are both pretty damn fine renders

Method 1 for me!

I prefer Method 1 - seems to have a bit less blue in it. Though 2 is probably a bit more realistic.

Number one. Two has too much AO IMHO.

I'll have to go for the top one, the textures are a bit stronger than the one below.

Very well done, Considering how lifelike the render looks, how much time did it take your computer to accomplish it? I hope I'm not being rude in asking, it's just that I'm really trying to get some idea of what kind of computer horsepower it take to do work of this caliber.

I vote for method 1.

@dsquadron 7 minutes for each frame, on a QX6700 overclocked to 3Ghz 4 gig mem.

I think number one, the white lines between the keys in #2 don't look right. Regardless, they're both very good and you did say that they weren't yet finished, so perhaps #2 would look better once done?

I like the top altho the bottom might be a bit more realistic. The skin tones on the top are quite lovely.

the first one has better AO, and the second has AO that's too dark and too black (instead of a reddish tone). overall, i'd say method 1 has much better skin. i think the highlights on brass are a little too harsh in both; it seems like the reflections might need blurring. shadows seem good in both, too me.

I like the light on the top figure, but the light on bottom figure seems to me to give her more depth, and therefore realism. Both images could be achieved with artificial lights indoors though. I think it depends on your preference.

wow - those 2 pics are so alike it's hard to tell the difference - however, i'd say #1 due to it being slightly darker - I don't like over exposure
