Description

This is a tribute to fire fighters every where in the world. They are special men and women that put their life on the line every day to help their fellow man in peril. Please feel free to leave a comment thanking anyone you may know in the fire service, a family member, neighbor, friend, etc... or just to the local fire department in your area. The photo of the fire fighter is from the web. It was a Canadian government site about their military engineering group. I sought permission to use the image as shown but alas the web page had been updated and they could offer no help in identifying the person. Alas, so goes the un-sung heroism of an unnamed fireman. Thank you, whoever you are. The abstract is done in Bryce with a little help from Apophysis.

And my thank you is to Bob Crump, my next door neighbor, who is retired on disabilities from injuries while fighting a structure fire.

Wonderful tribute! Thanks to you too, Willie! You have personally fought the flames while in your turnout gear as well. Thank you to firefighters everywhere... you do not get the thanks and recognition you deserve!

I love this image, very creative and artistic impression of what it might look like being right in the middle of the action putting out those fires. Great Tribute.

Thanks for the comments on the image, but I think some are missing the point. Say something good about a(or some) fire fighters as a tribute to them.

Fire-fighters! You just can't pay them enough! They turned up at my recent car-crash and helped get me out of my car. Thanks, Boys!

I'm in the San Diego area and they are doing remarkable work right now, going day and night with little rest in 90+ degree heat. Many are coming from Northern California and surrounding states to help. God Bless 'em all. Excellent tribute.

Very well done - this image really brings life to the fire!! Makes it look quite malevolent, which of course, it is! A great tribute and one which I can empathise with - being from Australia, we have plenty of bushfires here.

I have a half brother, Dale, who's a firefighter in Washington State, yes, he's experienced both residential & brush fires. Great tribute to all firefighters.
