The title for this comes from a non-fiction novel, "The Muses Are Heard," by Truman Capote of "In Cold Blood" fame.
The New Yorker magazine published nine travel articles by Capote. One of Capote's travel articles was a journalistic account of an American theatrical troupe's tour of Russia called "The Muses Are Heard." The troupe was performing Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess."
"Each of the arts whose office is to refine, purify, adorn, embellish and grace life is under the patronage of a muse, no god being found worthy to preside over them."
~ Eliza Farnham
"Artists are visited by the Muses, or tormented by their own passions and demons."
~ Wes Nisker
"The man who arrives at the doors of artistic creation with none of the madness of the Muses, would be convinced that technical ability alone was enough to make an artist... what that man creates by means of reason will pale before the art of inspired beings."
Hope everyone has a very inspirational day !

So beautiful Mina! You capture all of the magic and mystery of the Muse. I can definitely feel the presence of my Muse when painting some of my works. I don't have the discipline yet to paint ONLY when she visits me. LOL! Top marks for this one Mina!

Well titled and intentioned. I like the part about being tormented by passions and demons ... happens to most of us on this earthly plane while indulging in a fine repast of physicality. Excellent image.

To raise our spirets up on high, we first have to let go to let our spirets fly, to go where other people fear to tread, is the only way to race ahead to new beginnigs, new ways, new thoughts, and new life. Wow I love your work hun.
