I started out in 2D in 2002 when a friend gave me a disk of Paint Shop Pro 7 and have loved creating graphics ever since. I knew about Daz back then, though never got the program till 2004. I have been taking my time learning 3D graphics, joining a wonderful group, run by Deni, called Posers For Dummies (PFDlives) who have been very encouraging and a great help to a beginner like me. Though I currently only do renders of other peoples wonderful work and have textured a number of items, I have recently ventured into creating my own characters. Eventually I want to create my own models of people, animals, scenes and props.
The reason I became interested in 2D and 3D graphics is the fact I fancy myself a writer and have started several stories. Graphics will allow me to create the characters, scenes and whatnots that are in my stories. If I'm really lucky, someone will take an interest in my work, both writing and graphics, perhaps even leading to being published in some form. Another reason for wanting to learn these programs is to recreate a morph of my late daughter, who died 1994 and have been slowing working on that creation lately.
I am a single mother of two, now adult, children and have learned I am going to be a Gramma for the first time in the summer of 2010.
The image above is one that earned me Dummie of the Week last year and is an image I am very proud of. The dress is the Spooky Dress and was my first ever 3D purchase, I honestly don't remember what texture I used or who the artist was that created it. The shoes, with the same texture as the dress, are one's I found in the free section here at Renderosity. The woman is V4 with Deni's Alisha character and textures. I used the Daz Mil Enviroment that had come with the program at the time I got it. I don't remember what building that is in the picture and the background is a photo I took while living in Winnipeg Manitoba. The lights are just a couple of spotlights in the Daz program I set up myself.
