Wooden furniture made in MD, exported as FBX format and rendered in Poser without further ado.

Texturing comes as usual, also for complex butt ends (see table foot beam). Used here a simple seamless texture and bumpmap.

Very interesting, as I would never have thought to use MD to texture props like these.

@Lobo4333:

the template I took from here:

I used it as background in the 2D window, I scaled it to the right scale and I traced the panels.

Then in 3D space assembled the chair.

For comfort of the Poser figures and good sport in MD I added the back upholstery and a seat cushion.

made some changes to the side panels and added a front panel for extra stability.

The seat cushion is the white rectangle and the rwo red ones. The white is a core 80 mm or so thick and a tad smaller than the red ones so the cover fits loosely around the core.

Back upholstery is under pressure.

For details on the chair the pegs do a lot.

Improvement of chair would be to separate the sides into planks (internal line; cut) liek I did with the table top

That was a full circle which I cut into planks and then moved the testure a little to break the homogenous look. planks can come from different textures of course.

Drop me a site mail if you would like to have a copy.

Wow this is such a great idea! I'm a bit confused how to go about constructing objects like this in MD. Do you have any tutorials?

Well, it is cutting the panels and assembling the pieces. It is not different from what you would do in real life. Easier than assembling an Ikea kit.

Just do not hit 'simulate' or it will fall apart. Or: just hit it very shortly to let it all sag a little for a more 'authentic' look.

Thanks. I'll give it a go, not sure I will get anything resembling real world stuff lol.
