Renderosity Breaks 29,000 Member Mark

tim · September 21, 2000 6:25 am

At 29,000 members and growing, Renderosity represents one of the best resources for graphic artists on the web. The community of artists here, the site functionality, and the commitment to an inclusive approach will ensure the long term success of this site. Several of the members have posted their ideas for new features on this site in the "Community Improvement Ideas" forum. If you are a member of Renderosity, we invite you to tell us how we could improve the site to better meet your needs by posting in this forum. One idea we have been kicking around is a simple exchange where free lance jobs could be posted and found by independent artists. We're extremely interested in any ideas of this nature. We will collect the ideas and let the members vote on which would be more useful. Thanks for helping make this site such a tremendous resource for the 3D community.

Gee can I have the full-time job creating all those dummy accounts? Thanks for all the innatention you gave to yesterdays rant. Your stiff-necked attitude will be duly recorded when my companies staff meeting this weekend.

Speaking for myself, the place known as Renderosity was the embodiment of the efforts of Jack and Ed, and where they go, I, and no doubt many others will very soon follow. Locking them out over this issue was, as we say in my neck of the woods, a "chicken-sh*t" thing to do.

for a place that has 29,000 member how come I never see more than 200 or 300 logged on at a time? hmm

Ditto to Viper's question...

Out of 29,000+ members how many are active? How many of them made 1 post? How many of them were use for 1 day? I don't disagree that this place might be the largest but I find it hard to believe that it has 29,000+ active members.

Can back this claim up with certified and independently audited figures?

If you read a recent post by Jack, there were around 4000 members in December 1999. Unless there was ahuge mebership drive in the meantime the number is unlikely.

Jack posted an article on 8/13/2000 that was titled "Renderosity Breaks 25,000 Mark!!"

not everyone is interested in bitching in forums, im on this site for the pictures alone, not the community in such. so the intrigues bore the shit out of me. i like this site, it has the best galleries on the net and i doubt this will change :) btw, anyone know when the galleries will be up on the "new" site?
