Renderosity Artist Blogs Are Here!

July 17, 2006 1:34 pm

Renderosity invites you to create your own Artist Blog. Why bother with a blog? Blogs are a great tool to talk about your artwork, software, achievements, and off-topic subjects such as family life or entertainment. Blogs are the place to express yourself with the written word. They can serve as your very own on-line artist journal. You can share your thoughts with the rest of the art community and gain a deeper insight about fellow members as well. Members will be able to post comments under each others blogs. Each artist can edit and delete their personal blog entries and any subsequent comments of their own. The Renderosity TOS has been amended to include guidelines for blogging. We ask that members post in a constructive and positive manner. If there are comments posted that need to be reviewed, please notify a member of the Renderosity Team. To review the updated TOS please click here The blogs are now accessible from the sidebar under Features and also from your homepage. Click here to start bloging!! Make your mark on the Graffiti Wall! The Graffiti Wall has also been converted over to the PHP platform. It may look a little different. However, it is functionally the same as it was on the .ez platform. It is also available from the side bar link under Features. The Graffiti Wall is a place to post random bits of wisdom, humor, observations and to make your mark for the day. It is a fluid, ever changing wall of collective posts. Click here to view the Graffiti Wall.

YAY! Blogs are here! Ummm, (scratching my head) ummm... dangit! I had all this stuff I wanted to share, but now I can't remember what they were! D'oh! Oh well, it's not like they were pearls of wisdom, or anything! If they return (and seem as profound as they once seemed) - I'll share them with you! Otherwise... nevermind! LOL. Have a fantastic day, and thank you R'osity! You rock my world!

The Blog is great! Thank you!!! But is it possible to make a link to the blog from the gallery? Its hard to follow a special blog if many members will create a blog. How to find a special one?

Well, I like the blogs. It's a great place to expand on those topics that are too long for a forum, and may even be a little O.T. for a specific forum (I can't discuss string theory on the Poser forum, but I see nothing that disallows in a blog). It is much nicer for doing a personal essay than the galleries, since that is less about art and more about philosophy. I'm so naturally verbose that I find the idea irresistible. So, from me, thank you, Renderosity.

The blogs are a very good idea but a few suggestions, if I may? Call this my Renderosity blog wish list. They're rather plain and ordinary for an art site. Perhaps allow for customization in the future? It's not very intuitive if you want to find the blog of a specific member. Someone suggested a link from the gallery already. A link from the member homepage would be nice too. A way to sort the blogs by member name would be nice. A guide to what is allowed as far as HTML and that kind of thing in formatting our blog entries would be most appreciated. I think that's it. I think the blogs will be a fun addition to the renderosity community but they could use a little pizazz if you know what I mean.

So I take it, this may lead to a little css decorating of each user, like we can do in My space and Art zone?

This is great! And I'm with Darkjeanette above; all the suggestions are the same that comes to my mind.

Great this blog idea, but where is the Forum section????? I search it everywhere but I did not find it!

LillianH ( posted at 12:00AM Thu, 20 July 2006

Hi duo, The forums can be accessed from the "Forum" link located in the top header of the site (under the banner ads) or via this link: The Blogs can be accessed via the link on the side bar (second one from the top, under "Features" listing) or via this link: Hope that helps! Lillian

LOL~ I've been told my homepage kinda looked like I was blogging. . . at the time I wasn't sure what that meant, but now I do! Guess I'm going to have to sign up for this, since I've already started it~ ;)

I cancelled my Myspace account and don't really use Yahoo 360 because it's all about the blogs....and yet, here I go again! LOL At least HERE at Renderosity I can write about stuff that someone MIGHT just relate to...artwork. :) Viv

I think the Graffiti Wall is a great idea, but it would be much more inviting for wall scrawlers to impart their pearls of wisdom on if the Wall actually looked like a wall. May I suggest a tiled wall background and a graffiti-like font to scrawl with; after all this is an arty website. John

Is there an FAQ for editing the blogs. Someone mentions you can use html. Does that mean there is a way to include images in a blog? I would like to do this as often I'm trying to talk about very visual ideas.
