Our recent cutscene contest challenged artists to Create & Animate the most epic cutscene to their very own imaginary game. Each player had to Design an Illustration of a game level. Cutscene: "Animation Short" a scene that develops the story line and is often shown on completion of a certain level, or when the player's character dies.

All of the entries were excellent and it was difficult to come up with the winning artists, but ee are very pleased to announce the winners today.

Congratulations to our three winners and we thank everyone who entered. There were many strong submissions!

Managers: ashleyvs

Judges: ashleyvs, jennblake, nujazz, PrestonW, SchelleFire, tutone1234

Fawn: The Demon Queen

The imaginary game "Fawn", a 1st person adventure action game, is where you as an adventurer go on a quest to save a colleague who has gone missing. Her name was Fawn. Unfortunately Fawn has been possessed by a Demon Queen which won't make like easy as her followers and Hell-spawned minions will do everything they can to protect her... which means trying to kill you!

The screen image sample is before the final battle and the cut scene is the very beginning of the game (i'm just leaving out all the parts in between!)

I was inspired by the Tomb Raider games but wanted to explore what would happen to Lara Croft if she failed and was possessed. Obviously I can't use Lara Croft because you know... trademark and all... I thought it would be great to start the game as if we're coming to the end of a Tomb Raider game, but it doesn't end well and instead of starting from your last save point you now get to play a new character and try to make things right in a whole separate adventure

The entry was created using Poser 11 and models from various re-sellers (including Renderosity artists). Animated textures were created in Particle illusion 3 and the project was edited in Vegas Pro 14. Additional elements created/modified in Photoshop CS2.

Sound effects were taken from various sound effect libraries and music is by Albert Alvarez from the Soundtrack suites and Orchestra & Choirs soundtrack pack. Voiceovers were provided by myself and a friend, edited in Sonar X1 LE..

Our 3rd place winner will receive the following prizes:

• 1 year Mocha Pro Subscription

• $100.00 Fox Render Farm Credits

• Prime Membership

• 10 Rpublishing Prize pack

Magician's Muse

Magician's Muse is a game where Technology and Magic have met at a crossroads. It is a strange, beautiful, terrifying world.

A warrior and a tracker arrive at North Gate District. A quiet, forgotten place, riddled with fantastic treasures and relics of unspeakable power.

To retrieve what they have come for they will endure a brutal battle. To survive they must work together closely.

Rendered and animated in iClone7 in 3days.

I am inspired by minimalism and atmosphere.
