Who is Mec4D?
My name is Catharina Harders, I am a graduate of Visual Arts and a recording artist.
I have been involved with the Poser Community for the past 11 years.
Mec4D is a graphic design & digital recording label located in the Netherlands and US founded and owned by me for the last 10 years.
How long have you have you been involved in digital
I have been creating digital art for almost 11 years, this is my first passion
What are you currently working on?
I am currently working on 2 new characters for M4 "Buddy "and V4 ""Sylvana"
What software do you use and why?
My first software is Deep Paint 3D that I have used for almost 10 years it allows me to create my textures in a very quick way especially for difficult UV mapping that the models have today. Second is Poser Pro, but also Photoshop and Painter 11 is all I need for my texture creation.
Where do you find inspiration for your
I find my inspiration everyday around me but also by other Renderosity artists and the fans of my work. They always keep me going; give me unique power, positive energy, supporting me on all my projects
I am very thankful for that.
Do you have any advice for aspiring Digital Content
I think everyone around can create beautiful and unique art, we grow with our work every day making it better and better, I have advice for the young texture artist, I see sometimes wonderful products with a lot of wonderful stuff inside, but without the "'soul" I call this the digital finger print. The main things that bother me a little bit are the wrong scale of the skin texture, the reason they look like that is that they were created only in Photoshop and that, today, is not enough. The main figures as V4 and M4 have very difficult UV mapping that is out of scale, Photoshop never can fix it no matter how detailed the textures are, you should go out and try to use the programs that was created for it (DP3D or Body painter etc.}This would make your work much more realistic and quicker.
How has this online Community (Renderosity) enhanced
your work, relationships, and learning?
Renderosity I can call my home, I am member of almost all Poser Online communities but I feel mostly wonderful here with all my old friends around that give me inspirations everyday and also the new young artist that come with new ideas and visions. I learned a lot of stuff from others in the past 10 years here at Renderosity, everyone has always been helpful and nice.
Do you have any final words?
First of all I want to thank you so much for your support, to all my friends and fans of my work at Renderosity. Without you it would never happen, I was surprised this morning with this news, this give me even more inspirations and positive energy. Thank you again to everyone and I would like to make a list with the names but it would take forever so thank you again, you guys are the best!!!
Always at your service ! Cath

Hey Cath ... congrats :) I've been a fan of yours since the beginning and have always thought you are one of the best texture artists in the Poserverse, plus a truly great woman. You have gone through some times, and I truly admire you for digging back in and sticking around as you have done. As one of the originals, I'm happy the the new folks have the opportunity to see your creations. Good luck to you. Dave.
