Our community is made up of members from nearly 200 countries that have a passion for helping others learn, share and grow in digital art. Renderosity is considered "home" by thousands of creative individuals from all over the globe. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that we announce, in addition to English, the Renderosity MarketPlace navigation is now available in Japanese, German, French, and Spanish! Purchasing products from the Renderosity MarketPlace is now easy in many different languages. Just look for the language menu bar in the MarketPlace to set your language preference (Language en | fr | de | jp | sp). We hope you will enjoy our International diversity. "We have built a strong history of having the best customer service in the industry," said Jenifer Carey, VP of Renderosity. "We are continuing our tradition of serving customers by providing shopping cart tools in their native language. We look forward to expanding the language options to more areas of our community in the near future." Renderosity encourages community participation, collaboration, respect, and growth for cg artists, animators, photographers and writers of all backgrounds, all levels, and all nationalities. Now, buyers can navigate the Renderosity MarketPlace in English, French, German, Japanese or Spanish. We plan to incorporate these languages into other areas of Renderosity soon. We invite you to help us share this exciting news with your friends and other artists. If you are not a member, you can sign up for a free membership by selecting the language of your choice: en | fr | de | jp | sp. Thank you for being a part of our global "family" and community.

This is very cool, is product info submitted by venders automatically translated into these languages?

About time, for non-English Language users and customers.

Sivana ( posted at 12:00AM Mon, 01 October 2007

Well, it´s certainly a good idea, but I don´t think that it really helps much. The products are still in (US-)english language and only a translation for shopping card, vendor, top seller and so on (the navigation)is very less for a person without a knowledge of english. I think, who comes to Rendo has enough knowlede to sign in and find the way through the marketplace ;-) Also, some translations in German sounds a be strange for us Germans. So it would be better to translate "review" with "Kritik" or "Bewertung" instead "Rezension" becourse who doesn´t have a basic knowledge of English doesn´t know the overblowen word "Rezension" ;-) "Kuenstler Gemeinschaft" instead of "Kunstgemeinschaft" Anyway, it´s a great beginning to become international!!

Arvanor ( posted at 12:00AM Tue, 02 October 2007

Nice idea but whoever did the german translation should think all over it again. The grammar is awful. Maybe it is better to involve some native speaking people for translations.

I understand the need for the matrketplace and freestuff ( requirements may not be understood by all), but I'd love the forums to stick to english, because this is what makes sites like Renderosity truly international, everyone comes to the forums and share, help others in english, be it broken, doesn't matter. If we have different languages forums, then this will no longer be a community, but several communities based on the language we speak, and not the passion we share. Well, the 2 cents of a french guy anyway.

Hi akulla, You asked "is product info submitted by venders automatically translated into these languages?". We don't have an automatic translation feature in place. All the system messages are done manually.

LillianH ( posted at 12:00AM Tue, 02 October 2007

The pages were professionally translated and reviewed by native speaking members. If you find a translation that you think could be improved, please send an email to admin@renderosity.com with the URL of the page, the text that you think should be updated (and why) and the proposed replacement text. We will review each suggestion. We appreciate everyone's feedback in getting these pages and the navigation "just right".

Cool for those who need it ... But i realy realy realy hope the forums stay English ONLY... I have seen good forums get "killed" by multi languages introduction....

The languages we started with were chosen based on our membership. We will look into adding additional languages based on our community needs in the future.

This will be helpful for some people, but English is more "community" also for non native members like me.
