Bring back the detail by Adjusting Sub Patch weight

Lets get started....

Here is a really quick tutorial about adding detail to Sub Patches. As we all know subs are great for smoothing out our modelling creations but they also can cause us to loose some detail as well. Here is how you can get some of the detail back by adjusting the weight of the sub patch. As you can see from the image above for this example I am using a door type assembly. The 2 different colours are 2 separate parts when you enter sub patch mode (TAB key) you can see the end result. To fix this is very easy make sure the W is selected at the bottom right of your screen then from the drop down menu select Sub Patch Weight.
