Distribution mapping a pathway

A short tutorial that shows how to use distribution maps to place textures in certain areas. Usefull for endless projects! This one shows how to create a path.

Displacement Maps

I always wanted to be able to blend textures together so that they looked more real I used the texture editor extensively to achieve this, but no mater how hard I tried I seemed to fall a little short.

This technique is nothing new, but I have never seen a tutorial about how to do it. It took me a very long time to figure out a couple of things here and this is the reason I decided to write this, in the hope that it takes the pain away for others.
This tutorial will show you how to make the path above, but this technique can be used for a lot more than just terrains.
