Yet Another Realistic Skin Technique v2.0
Skill Level: Intermediate / Views: 4891 / System Requirements: Poser 5+
This is the new and improved version of my realistic skin tutorial! All you need is a basic knowledge of how to create and connect nodes and how to edit their parameters. This shader, designed to work well in virtually any lighting situation, is easily adaptable to any 3D figure, and there's also a section on further customization.

Introduction
Let's begin with a "before" or, in scientific terms, a “control” shot. This is custom-morphed Victoria 4.2 with a texture set of my own design applied. The texturing is applied with 5 nodes. As you can see, this rudimentary shader is better than nothing, but it's far from anything that could properly be called "realism." Let's fix that! To prepare Poser, make sure the units are set to feet and displacement maps are enabled in the Render settings.
NOTA BENE: The symbol >> will be used to indicate sequential menu selections for most nodes. In the case of Color_Math and Math_Functions nodes, however, the name that appears after the last >> in the sequence indicates what to choose as the “Math_Argument” parameter after the node has already been created. Names in quotation marks (“ ”) precisely identify a particular node in the tree. Depending on the order of creation, which is largely inconsequential with regards to the final shader results, the nodes in your implementation that correspond to the nodes I name may be named differently.
