An overview and step-by-step demonstration of my method of painting portraits in Painter Classic

I'll begin by introducing myself. I am 52 years old and have been involved with making art since I was old enough to use a pencil (my Mom says 2 years old. :^)
I worked in traditional oils and acrylics starting in my teens until the early eighties when I began working with 3d rendering, eventually settling on Bryce. Around the year 2000, I got online and eventually began posting my work here. A few months ago I purchased a Wacom graphire3 tablet and began doing portraits.
Which brings us to the point of this post. I have received some comments on my portraits that have expressed an interest in more detail in my work method. Some of them have expressed doubt that I am actually painting the portraits. What follows is a step-by-step demonstration of how I work.

Pigment artists who say digitally created paintings are not art are simply feeling threatened by new technology. Did you know, some pigment artists actually felt so threatened by the advent of photography that they figured they might as well put away their brushes? That was around the time of the U.S. Civil War and so far pigment art is still around. If someone makes such comments to you, tell them they need to educate themselves before they make judgemental comments.
