I can't believe what I've missed here...this has an oil pastel feel, only it's also smoothed, perhaps digitally, or with some physical means that blurs and coalesces. It's a fine combo. And your usual way with portraiture---very accented eyes, huge contrast in dark and white (the black eye rims with those bright white eyeballs, and then black irises etc). Love the 'fauvist' dakrer reds on one side of her face, and the lighter tans and yellows on the other. (Well matisse did this too, along with others.) And the power of her in-our-face gaze. Powerful stuff, I'm always happy when you post portraits and humans in general.
