Winter in the Dutch Dunes (3) This photo was taken earlier this week in the Dunes between Noordwijk and Zandvoort, near the Zilk in the Netherlands Just a 4 or 5 kilometers behind the shoreline. In this area there are a lot of young trees, which are covered with snow, and due to the overcast there was hardly any color!! Last night we had again a lot of frost, not so common in Holland: they expect freezing weather for the coming days (week or weeks), so the snow will last a little bit longer then normally. The negative part is that the snow is destroying the quality of the natural ice on the water ways etc., it might get difficult to skate on natural ice in the western and southern part of the Netherlands. Up north there wasn't any snow, so the “fever concerning skating” is getting around over there !!LOL!!
