While putting my home computer in place after repairs, I found this clip from a news paper of several years ago. It's very interesting, which is why I'm posting it. The article is in Swedish, I have translated as exactly as possible. The article was submitted by Elisabeth Rönnqvist.
Heard on the beach
Words and not a song. A presumptuous 19 year old student on the beach had taken on himself to explain to a retired man sitting resting his legs why it was so important that the older generation should understand his generation.
- You grew up in a completely different and primitive world, he said sufficiently loudly so the surroundings should hear.
- We young people today have grown up with television, jet planes, space travel and space walks, internet, chips, Ipad, laptops and cell phones, fast computers....and a lot more.
The old man sighed, but replied so all around could hear:
- You are totally right. We did not have all this when we were young, so we invented it. Now may I ask, you arrogant little shit, what are you doing for the next generation? (There were many applauses!)

reminds me of a WWII veteran that went back to Normandy for a reunion. when he was departing the jet and in customs he was having a problem remembering where his passport was at. a smart ass customs official told him as old as he is he should have got it out earlier. the veteran replied, no one was here to ask me for a passport during the Normandy invasion
