Description

Good question - the answer: " Your garden is like a Zoo - when your vegetables start hopping around, say what " ? Stranger things have happened, I am sure - but I have never ever experienced a vision like this, where a Kangaroo actually hopped across our property ... right between our vegetable patches ! We have been living here on the East Coast of Australia for nearly 13 Years and this is a first - quick where is the camera ? ~~~ Happy Birthday, Mark (wysiwig) ~~~ Wishing you good health always and on all your travelling adventures and don't forget the camera and I hope this is a surprise for you as much, as it was for us ! just a bit of post-work because he was so damn' fast - a case of, now you see me and now you don't ... Good Cheers my friend Brigitte [aka Gitti] I do know for a fact that you really love Geckos, but they will have to keep for now, they are a dime dozen here, but this is something really special and unusual to find a wild kangaroo so close to home.

What a surprise! I wish I could have been there to see it myself. Great capture and dedication! Thank you for sharing! (By the way, when we were in Hessen, the only visitors I had were the birds and squirrels- and a little mouse... I miss them!)

I see Mark hasn't gotten here yet---good, he'll have something in store when he does. He's our grand traveler of the world, our bon vivant of the journey of the soul. He deserves lots of exotic and wonderful gifts. Well, you said geckos are a dime a dozen where you live: Brigitte? If I saw one gecko in Chicago, I'd pass out. We don't get geckos. But we really don't get Kangaroos! I mean, never. So I can appreciate that this is one rare sight, even in Australia. I really like the kangaroo on one side and the tree on the other. (Balance.) And that pink dappled garden wall? With the pink bricks? First, I love those bricks. But also, the color goes really well with the kangaroo. (Do you think his family is saying, "oh, you go so well with that pink---you should wear it more often!") That's very rich vegetation you have, very lush. And It's a delightful playful image. In the shot, the 'roo looks right at home. (Is "roo" considered cheap animal slang? Have I just offended every animal south of the equator? If so, tell me, and I'll issue a formal apology.) It's a lovely image, Brigitte, and a loving text for Mark. Happy birthday, Mark! And great to see you back posting, Brigitte. Both images are a delight!

(I redid my comment on the goldfish, so if you were left bored to tears by the first one, the second one is now in place...)

We have a million geckos in Texas, none in Washington, and NO kangaroos in either place, so I think this qualifies as a WIN!!! LOL! What a wonderful experience to see this guy, and you got a picture, as well! Marvelous gift for Mark. He's going to love it!

I am sooo jealous! All we get over here on our lawns are plastic flamingos. What a handsome little guy and such a lush backyard. Thank you for the kind words, Gitti. I am already thinking about the next destination, perhaps next spring.

What a cute critter! In my backyard mostly what we get is mice, which our dog hunts, and the occasional coyote. I've seen raccoon tracks nearby, but not in the yard.

Oh what a fantastic experience for you, as well as for the kangaroo, to appear in your garden. He will love your garden, has gone on vacation, and just go there to which he has always longed. Namely to be in some very good company: with you, dear Gitte. I hope he will often come to visit you, and do you invite him for a drink then? A wonderful gift for Mark! Happy Birthday!

How cool to have this roo come to visit Brigitte and you got a great shot of him as he wondered how he came to be here and what was he going to eat next. I guess if he decided on the veges there wouldn't have been much left for you. A lovely birthday card for Mark. 😄
