Description

Each year some of the students that I teach present their version of the Stations of the Cross. They learn about the Passion of the Lord and how that story still affects them today. I felt that it was appropriate to add this to my gallery during this Easter season. They were merely youngsters when this photo was taken but I thought they did a great job conveying the mood. Have a Blessed Triduum and Easter Sunday. Jodie

your usual signature clarity, mixed with your signature light---where you seem to capture light from inside your figures as much as any that falls 'on' them---combine to make this a gentle, revealing and luminous portrait. You get this light in many types of portraiture where people glow from inside, bestowing their presence on us like a 'gift'. Also, you caught an introspective moment in the student who plays Christ. And, as in all your theatrical shots, you make constantly fine choices with backgrounds, letting them harmonize & support the actors. (The move from deep red to black---from right to left---is a fine contrast to the Romans & Christ.) When we realize this is portrayed by young souls, this is ultimately a very touching shot. Hope your easter was sweet & hope it leads to a beautiful spring...
