Description

.............................TheWaterFalls............................................. This is all one terrain appliqued from a surface map i made in vue d espirit and saved out...lost the terrain but saved the map, made it a greyscale appliqued...rite i said that...heh heh heh.Totally remodelled it with magetism, redid the mtns, added the river and lakeshore, but kept the basic colour map for the land only. The rest are sub-groups wit multiple .itx's on em.The river is a flat plane bent 90 degrees and smoothed,...applied mtntop.itx using the filter(full) and disabling the colour to make the water fade at the edges(1 application to each side),boosted the specularity for the foam, added fracbump.itx for waves etc.,and duplicated this minus the mtntop.itx for the pond water. The sky is 3 infinite planes with different coloured applications of cloud.itx.There are 2 volumetric objects, 1.around the mountains only, for this i made an oblong box, moved the axis to the bottom/back,scaled up the 2 that needed it(z&y)and applied voulmetrics to it with a LARGE noise X axis so it would look layered and caused it to fall off radially,so that ,viewed from the end you have a right angle triangle of fog that falls off up and towards the camera.2.the foam is a blob object for no other reason than i wanted to,volumetrics with only Z falloff...All the trees are pic objects...sorry not the poly room t model em yet...From this view the water fall can be animated by translateing the fracbump in the Z axis and a small ammount in the X.The pond could have raindrops.itx confined via subgroup to the area of the falls and a second, dripdrop.itx, could describe a wake coming out from the falls...it looks cool...tried it on a lil test once. That's about it...talk amongst yer selves or comment here...heh heh heh

fewww, you are long to read today bobby. The waterfall could be perfect if you could fix the edges with the filter effect.

The thing I like the most is the mist(?) where the water lands. There seems to be something wrong is the actual waterfall. The colour/texture doesn't feel right. It lacks a certain smoothness.

Nicely done. The waterfall would look much better if the highlite 'spots' where faded out at the outer edges and in the foreground reflection. Also I think the highlites would be less saturated, i.e. more white in color. It's terrific that you send in so many renderings to this gallery.
