Description

I didn't have all the equipment mentioned in Jeff's how to so I had to improvise a little. I didn't have the CD rack or even a potted plant like the one used by artaddict2 in his "macro" photo, but the wood vise worked well as a substitute. No real substitute for the coffee maker so I went on without it. Jeff doesn't recommend this technique for waterdrop splashes but I was lucky enough to find a damaged "macro" lens in case anything unforeseen happened. If you look close I even tried to work in some incense smoke in the lower left hand image, you probably need to view full size to see it. Other than photoshop resizing, cutting and pasting NO PHOTO MANIPULATION was used. TGIF Mike capturing physics and chaos at 1/10000th of a second, or thereabouts. Wow! Mike this is some improvement on my dated equipment mate, see what you can do when you put your mind to it. lol. Fantastic collage and some great water drop shots, a couple of nice crowns in there. This is something I have never tried, I keep meaning to but never get round to it. Excellent work my friend, just gotta be a fav for me. Bravo!!!!! 5+++++

I have every notion to give this a go myself now. :-) Not with drops as my eye-hand coordination are so very lacking (not too much communication going on between them and the brain these days) but this looks like a real hoot!

This is awesome! I don't usually care so much about water drop photography, but the METHOD you used rocks! You took a fun idea and made it work, and that's impressive as all get-out!
