Description

The Veteran The Veteran travels with no particular destination or goal. He enjoys the solitude and isolation. The bipean he rides doesn't have a bad temperament but, it doesn't have much of an opinion either. The Veteran having been in many fights and battles knows, "where there are two there is conflict", so he avoids civilization preferring to be alone. Having his own inner demons to fight with being more than enough company. The Veteran travels the Westlands searching for... Production notes: This is a mash-up of several costumes and equipment sets for M4 inspired greatly by the excellent WW II German Uniform by tannenbaum. I always liked the design of the German gas mask canister. To me it always looked so cool it just has a very sleek look. The animal is a freebie on share CG reminds me of the Tauntauns from Starwars but more lizard like. This idea actually developed from just messing around with the German uniform. It became a hodgepodge collection of various uniforms and gear. The image came as the costume/ character developed. I imagined an image of a lone figure walking across the sand dunes against a sandstorm. with his cape blowing in the wind. The only change really was putting him on the "bipean" (Bipedal - animal). for more interest. Post work: I knew I wanted to use a loose painted effect in the style of Frank Frazetta to give the image a sense of motion and movement. BTW: This one turned out a lot better than I had expected. I was really pleased with the final render even. So I may post it in a few days just to show the details that got lost in the post work but are now just merely hinted at. PS Worth a look full size PS Hope you enjoy and thank you for the comments and "favs" as of late As always comments and suggestion are welcomed and appreciated. have a Great weekend Chris

Amazing work on this highly detailed presentation, Chris. This reminds me a lot of the old John Buscema art from long ago in the Conan comics.

......Searching for what he'll never find....peace. The paint effect works really well in this, you expect him to just fade from view as you watch. Great work!

This is quite good. I like that the creature isn't quite a tauntaun and isn't quite a dewback either, which removes this from the "fan art" category. The costume and post-work are very impressive. Thank you for sharing this!
