Description

The Viking ship model is completed and in beta with Cornucopia. To create a composition with Tony's "Realms Art" Viking figure along with his Highlander figure, I have created a template of the floor/benches and rail that can be imported into Poser, arrange your figures and then save as a single Poser file that can be imported into Vue and aligned to the ship model. This will help all those interested and a simple trick is do your object arranging in a single monitor view rather the the normal 4 view setup. These two helpers have made it easy to add in 27 full poser figures to my composition. I will be adding this seating template to the product for this weekend. I hope you fine it of use and get you to thinking about how you can apply this idea to your other works. Landscape is nice.. but need people, animals, birds and even bugs!

Very cool idea. Figuring out how to integrate the different tools out there has to be 80 percent of the battle in my opinion.

The layout template is a great idea. But I have found that Poser renders figures a lot better than Vue. An alternate use would be to render the ship in Vue and the figures in Poser, then overlay the figures in Photoshop. You just have to match up the perspective in both files. Just so you know the left front Viking is standing inside the bench. - Bob

Excelent, I look forward to buying it. "Landscape is nice.. but need people.." I fully agree. I'm working now on a scene with 7 people, all clad in cloth from marvelous designer. And for the viking ship I already know what I will do with it!

Oh you old eagle eye Bob!! You are right on both accounts in this particular case, as you will see in my composition, Posers rendering is un-necessary. When I do a battle scene coming up I will do as you are suggesting. As for the guy standing in the bench....this set up was for scaling and getting these initial figures in place.. As a single poser file they come into vue as individual meshes that I grouped and moved around... Not seeing the figures in their final location, I make adjustments as far as posing and in some cases go back to poser reopening the individual figure fil and resave... This nicely updates the figure in vue... But you know this and I'm just mentioning this for those new to such.

LOL! And not one of them is rowing! Seriously, though, that is a terrific idea. I still have a lot of challenges moving between Poser and Vue, and this sounds like a great method of streamlining the workflow. Thanks for the tip! I have to wonder what kind of monster machine you're running, though. My comp chokes at four Poser characters. If I tried to import this many poser figures, it would go up in flames. Are you using magic?

Wonderful idea! It can be difficult to position figures in Poser, this would be handy with buildings especially, all those walls....
