Description

This was taken on our way home from the nearest town Friday 23rd. This is just before we turn left near our home. Taken with my smartphone from the moving car. Have a beautiful day. Today it has been a beautiful day in sunshine and very light wind. We have been in the town again. Thank you for viewing and commenting :)

Very nice capture Helle. I like the wide view very much. The road looks as if it will goes endless straight on.

Thank you, but it wont, as the road ends on the tip of this spit :)

How very cool is this! Here in the U.S. on the History Channel, is a recurring show called "Vikings", and they definitely mentioned the name of this town. Your shot is prettier than the dark dismal medieval views from the tv show. :)

I love your beaches, and so often imagine what it must be like to be out on that spit in the middle of the water, lazily watching the sun set over the currant field. :)

Mile after mile after mile of road and surf show up clearly and colorfully, with plenty of depth and perspective, in this neat unpeopled capture, taken from a moving vehicle, Helle.

It must be great to have two coasts!
You are getting great pics from your phone, such a useful addition to your kit!

ditto all the above, and yes you're getting great pics from a smartphone, and in motion too! I realized: The sea around you is, at its smallest, as wide as Lake Michigan; and, at its widest, it's way wider than Lake Michigan. Yet I've rarely seen it look "angry," stormy, have massive waves, whatever...Is that because you just don't go out there, when it's like that? (You're not 6 blocks from the sea, the way I am from the Lake: I assume it's not easy to just run out and grab a photo of it...) I assume your sea gets wild and untamed too, but your shots show such a gentle caressing mood. This shot is low and sweeping, and the sea looks wonderfully peaceful, as does the road and the flat land. As does the curve of the coast up ahead (is that what tara meant by the "spit"?) Another low sweeping shot of your countryside, beautiful as always, and peaceful. And very sweet detail---it shows you that if the photographer is right, even a smartphone can take a terrific shot.
