Variation on a Theme of Writing
This was modeled and rendered in Imagine for Windows 2.0 for the weekly theme of 'writing tools' back in mid 2002
For this rendering, I came up with a way to use HDR images and simulate image based lighting (neither of which Imagine supports).
Unfortunately, Imagine does not have shadowmaps, only hard edged raytraced shadows, so with 200 lights, this pic took 110 hours to render on my celeron500.
The airbrush is modelled from my Paasche VL airbrush, and the pen was modeled from the one that happened to be sitting on my desk at the time.

Thanks. It's not a global brush though, it is a HDRI lightprobe and I devised a way to use HDR images in Imagine, so the HDRI has been unwrapped from a lightprobe to a spherical map, then wrapped around a large CSG sphere that encompasses the whole scene. The result is proper HDRI reflections :)
