I've got the idea for this render while watching a german tv-series, "Der letzte Bulle" (The last Cop), a mixture of crime and comedy where the comedy comes from the fact that the leading actor plays a cop who was in coma for 20 years and now works again but with computers, mobile phones, sat nav (he calls it "girly compass"), nonsmoking and political correctness. The soundtrack is completely taken from the 70's, 80's and early 90's and so I heard this song by Billy Joel that gave me the title.
And this remembered me on the time of the early 80s where, at least in Hamburg, there where these uptown girls: Very young women wearing classic little dresses or twin sets, subtle (if any) makeup and, important, pearls together with an attitude of wealth and education.
So I got the idea to turn Antonia into such an uptown girl.
Technical: First I simulated the "Little Black Dress" by rjjack (a freebie you can get here: http://antonia.bluecho4u3d.com/freestuff.htm).
Because the necklace didn't want to simulate as I wanted it to after I did the simualtion for the dress I exported and reimported the ready simulated dress, deleted all frames except the first and did the draping of the pearls so that Antonia lets them run through her hand.
Some postwork was done to clean up hard edges and to add the gradient. The light I used comes for free with my Toni Polygon set (freestuff).

LMAO I hope USA steals that program idea too. It sounds REALLY funny. Then again,, the music; Al Green: "..whether times are good or bad..", Sly: "..bloods thicker than the mud..", Curtis Mayfield "..that's what I said"... Titles not required, still gives me goosebumps. Can your star still find proper bellbottoms though? Use that girly phone.
dynamics are so much fun, aren't they? also am plaing with those a lot again . its this little part of"technical risk " you cannot influence to the point, a fact I like a lot. As I like the striped dress and Tony's look . Natural and fun to play with :) If you come out with this render when waiting for "Der letzte Bulle" I am actually wondering what you get in mind when I point you on "Magnum" ? >:o)
We had something similar, but different, here in the UK: Life on Mars and the follow-up series, Ashes to Ashes (yes, they are named after David Bowie songs!) However here the cop was thrown back in time first to the '70s and then the '80s, and had to deal with a lack of computers, mobile phones, sat nav, nonsmoking and political correctness. It was complicated and I can't do it justice here. :) Lovely picture, and thanks for the tips on dynamic necklaces. I haven't got one to work properly yet; it may be time to try again.
OK, I have hit the 100 to go mark and this one is #36. I am going to comment on each one. I saw who Is #1 and was a surprise. Also One artist/vendor is on the list a lot. She must have thought I hated her. I uploaded my very first animated GIF , but it does not animate when I look ed at it. She is supposed to stick out her tongue at you. Anyway except for this the preamble were typed on the spot and please allow for typos, misspellings and disjointed thoughts. Well I am not German , but the plot line sounds interesting. Of course being Japanese I never heard of it. I lied about being Japanese, actually I am a mutt I do have a little German in me I was told. You certainly have given her an intense expression. Looks like the expression that would come when the "fight or flight" response would be taking place. Song? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNA7DcVppEs
