Description

Another one thats been sat on my hard drive that I ment to upload, Alan and I were playing around at the club. The conkers are what he picked up whilst we were out walking in the park. The Fir cone was in the room that we use. Not the sharpest in the box, like I said we were playing around. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make, each and every one is appreciated CC most welcome.

Love the texture and colouring of the pine Jeff... Actually, this is a very pleasing 'play around' image! :)

I didn't realise you were trying to create a balancing act! great sharp detail to the cone Jeff, excellent macro mate. Bravo! I recall that this conker on the right been may have been used in a battle with hole for a string. I suppose that poses the question - do people have conker fights in other parts of the world ? you were missed at the club today.

For those of you that do not know the game of conkers, there is a very good explanation here:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conkers They do have a World Champion of Conkers, the contest is held each year in Ashton (near Oundle) Northamptonshire, England.

i think I'd prefer the cone alone, as the overall design looks a bit awkward. Super clear detail on it, though.

Exceptionally clear detail Jeff, I used to be very good at conkers in the 60's when I thought I was a boy lol, maybe being brought up with older brothers made me get into "boyish" sports,! Scrumping was also a favourite of mine :)

I had to look this up, as I don't know 'conker'. Now if you had said chestnut, lol... they look a lot like hazelnuts to me. Nicely autumnal image.
