Description

Picture taken at Thibessart’s pond on April 30, 2012. The Short-toed Treecreeper, Certhia brachydactyla, is a small passerine bird found in woodlands through much of the warmer regions of Europe and into north Africa. It has a generally more southerly distribution than the other European treecreeper species, the Common Treecreeper, with which it is easily confused where they both occur. (It can be most easily distinguished by its different song). Never heard of or seen a treecreeper. Beautifully crisp & brightly lit image & the moss provides a great background...

A neat little guy. We have Brown Creepers here, but I have yet to see one. Thank you for sharing. This nice, crisp shot shows that he is prettier than ours. I like the moss.

Amazing! The light and color are simply superb, and the little guy looks quite intent on something of extreme importance. I love the "tall" feeling of this image.

Beautiful shot. Hard to shoot these guys like this; my camera tends to focus on the tree trunk and not the bird, even using centre-point af. Tree looks fascinating - lots of hiding places for insects. I bet nuthatches would like this too.
