Description

January 11, 2005 200 meters south from the Triangle we find ourselves on the plaza in front of Malmö City Theater. The plaza is adorned with this sculpture, "Tragos", or "Birth of the Tragedy", by sculptor Nils Sjögren (1945 - 1953), made of limestone and bronze. Easily identifiable are Charlie Chaplain's "Little Tramp" and Hamlet's "...alas poor Yorik, I knew him well..." The figures in the sculpture are either tragic characters in the world of the theater, or actors who have made an impression in the world of tragic theater. The building in the background is the entrance to Malmö City Theater. See how many characters you can identify! ENJOY! And I apologize for the hazyness of the photo, Malmö had just suffered a down pour.

A nice shot of this very odd feet atop human sufferers statue, located in the fortified city of Malmo, in Sweden. Keep up the good work. And go to http://www.cnn.com/videos/cnnmoney/2017/08/04/t-rex-couldnt-run-study-lon-orig.cnn-tech/video/playlists/mobile-digital-shorts/ for a cool video about your favorite reptile.

A very elaborate piece. I'm afraid the only one I knew right off was Charlie Chaplain. I wonder how long it took to make this?

What a cool sculpture! I saw Charlie right away, and now I see Yoric's skull on the right.

Wonderful tour of these lovely statues, Michael!
