Description

First of all - thank you so much for comments, favorites and ratings, both on new and older paintings :D They are all tucked away and treasured even if I'm not around much :) I had a request from a friend on Twitter a while back. He wanted me to paint Tom Hanks the way he looks today, warts and all :p And since I find mature faces more interesting and more challenging to paint, I couldn't say no. Besides, I really like Tom Hanks movies and his acting. Anyway...the challenge here was the skin. I'm still not 100% happy with it since I can't shake that wax look completely. It's just darn difficult to do. But I hope you can all see who this is without having to read the title of it :p I actually planned on painting this in color, but since I've had a way of getting bored with what I do as of late, black and white seems to work better. So the only colored thing here is his tie. Right now I'm painting Angelina Jolie...which is not that much of a challenge. Her face is rather boring compared to Tom Hanks. I know a lot of guys who won't agree with that, but oh well :p Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend :D Christa.
