Description

Arctic tern ... a group of them was resting on the beach near my home here in Juneau. These amazing birds have the longest annual migration of any creature on Earth, traveling from the Arctic each year to their Winter homes in Antarctica, then back again. They migrate over 11,000 miles twice each year. Here they are close to 90% done with their Northward migration.
