Description

Acrylic on canvas. ~*@*~ I have no idea what I'm going to call this subconscious creation. Having only created one image about the situation in Iraq (a crummy photomontage sometime back) and wanting to get out some angst, I decided to think about that as I painted. I don't know if I want to call it anything along those lines when its completed, I'll probably follow more along the thoughts of a James Gleeson as he's who Jim and I have been looking at lately (and quite obviously who inspired the techiniques I'm attempting). ~*@*~ Thank you so much for viewing and your thoughts are always appreciated. :)

Even though you've already begun to introduce colour into this piece (and working damn well if I may say so) I'm glad you've posted the blue WIP for posterity. Now Butters' version of If You Leave Me Now has stuck in my cerebral jukebox, gotta wrench my consciousness back to the matter in hand (I could make a pun on "matter in hand" around the neck of this strange entity, but I won't L). You've impressed me no end with your ability to make some kind of sense of the initial random forms and transform them into recognisable structures, not least that cybernetic half-sub-half-piranha thingy. Excellent stuff my friend and I'm sure that ain't just bias talkin' ;-) hugest hugs

Wow, Cassie, this is breathtaking and compelling! I love the blues you have used, they are most effective in conveying and eerie, mechanical sense of serene horror. This is gorgeous work and I daresay hardly a WIP in that I don't think there is anything which could be improved upon!

Great work - I could easily see it as a complete piece, but it will be interesting to see how it develops & if you can improve upon this without losing it's power & drama. I often find it hard to decide when to stop working on something I'm creating & I'm sure I've overworked some. Of course, digital work can be saved at various stages & recovered - acrylic on canvas is a whole different process...

for a WIP, it will be very interesting to see where you take this one, sweetie. I love seeing works as they progress to the end and feel impatient to see what it will all look like when it's finished. The blue really suits my mood at the moment, as does the surreal nature of everything else. hugs hard

Seems that both you and Jim are going through a blue period :-) An unexpected treat, this! I can see all sorts of nebulous shapes here. It'll be fascinating to see how it develops. Reminds me of Beksinski, which is a nice coincidence because I've just got hold of a copy of a lavish book of his paintings, just republished in Japan. (Bet Jim's glowing green :-)

I don't think an image like this really needs a title Cass! It speaks so strongly to the imagination without one, amazing image & one I know I'll be returning to again & again seeing more there all the time!

WIP or not I love it, amongst a tangled mass I am seeing a solders grave helmet on rifle.
