Description
My wife suggested I post this one after we watched it kill 2 bees in as many minutes.
Bee would come in, spider runs to where it landed, spider barely touches the bee (with its fangs I guess), bee falls to the floor no longer moving ad infinitum, spider leaves dead bee on ground, waits for next bee.
Yeah.... we were thrown by that as well.
- no web, no 'coccooning' going on (Yes I know, not a real word but you know what I'm talking about right?)
The bees were three times the size of it - anyone knows what spider this is then please give us a shout. (Location - Australia)
Needless to say I didn't let my daughter play around the lavender for the rest of the day I can tell you.

It's a species of Jumping Spider. They are deadly to all insects, as they possess sharp eyesight, and they pounce on their unwary prey, and before the insect knows it, it's transfixed in the spider's powerful fangs and become paralysed. Only another jumping spider is a match for it - in stealth, speed and strength - they're cannibals too !

It's not wise to trust any spider as they are changing so quickly and little is known about many of them! But still that's the nature of the food chain, a very nice capture indeed!
