Description
Right around the corner from the Golden Gate Bridge is the Legion of Honor, The Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco. In the courtyard is one of the 28 full size castings of Auguste Rodins The Thinker, bronze on marble, 73 inches (186cm) tall on a block of marble. I think that I have posted a photo of The Thinker before but my wife Jo is in this photo for perspective. Old photo scanned yesterday.

Hey, my wife's name is Jo, too! LOL A really cool shot of her and the statue, Dana. Great way to show the scale of this famous sculpture. I'm in the middle of a project to scan all my negatives and slides to preserve them. I've finished all the slides (including a bunch of old 4X5 transparencies), and am about halfway through the negatives.

And there's a copy in Philadelphia, and of course Paris. These are the 3 I've seen. There was a poster on the corridor wall of my Junior High School which read "The most difficult job is thinking". Not so encouraging to young teens. Keep up the good work! :-)

Nice picture Dana. Jo looks nice, so does' The Thinker'. I have seen one of the 'Thinker' statues in Buenos Aires. To your comment about my latest upload. The whole Smithonian is crowed, more so than the The US Air Force Museum. BTW, I will be going on a little 2-week drive starting tomorrow morning. To Banff and Jasper Parks, Canad and coming back down along the West Coast.

Safe trip my friend and take as many photos as your camera can handle. The Valley of the Ten Peaks, near Lake Louise, is a must so is the short climb to see Payto Lake.
