The race to the tomb. Who won? On hearing the women's account of what they had experienced at Jesus' tomb, John and Peter raced to the tomb to see for themselves. John being the younger, was faster than Peter. However, John was confused and scared as to what was going on and didn't dare enter the tomb. When Peter caught up, he went into the tomb and found the face cloth folded by itself and the funerary shroud lying by the side. Then John dared to go in, too. However, they still couldn't grasp that Jesus had foretold to them about the resurrection, and they STILL didn't understand! And went home as if nothing had happened. A real anti-climax, one could say. However, the chief priests knew, understood, foresaw the consequences of their actions and were in a panic to get out of the situation! What a contrast between John and Peter, on the one hand, and the ruling elite on the other! This photo was also taken without flash. It was difficult to get the camera so I could get both figures in the photo while not getting the camera in the way of the lighting on the figures. Enjoy!
