Description

I've been painting a lot lately and thought I would share some of my more successful work. This is painted mostly from photos, but rather loosely interpreted. I am hoping this creative streak will last, glad to be back. As always, thank you so much for taking a peak, hope everyone is well.

A difficult subject for watercolour, especially washes, but you did a great job, well done

I've just looked through all your sketches and I think this is my favourite, with Rainy Day Crow & Hare Alert very close behind. Apologies for not viewing before, but through lack of time I tend to only look through the Photography section (being what interests me most, but realising I miss out on a lot as a result!) I have a soft spot for owls & crows. We had a pair of crows nesting on a ledge outside of my office a few years ago. They used to wait for the daily sandwich van to arrive, fly down and grab discarded crusts from people's lunches, and then fly up to the roof to "dunk" the bread in the gutters, to soften the bread so they could swallow it. Owls, well they just remind me of my old schoolteachers - they just look at you with that "I am not impressed" expression!!!!

Thank you! I confess I do love animals, especially birds, so find myself in the photography section quite a bit for inspiration (no owls around here, I live in the city). Most of my paintings are done from photos, either my own or someone else's. I have a soft spot for crows and ducks, since they are plentiful here and their antics keep me entertained. So keep up the photography, and I'll keep painting!
