Description

The Red Panda lives in India, but there was a display of them at the Chengdu Panda Preserve alongside their better-known B&W cousins. For sheer playfulness and animation, nothing can beat these little guys' tireless enthusiasm. It was a treat to see, but a big frustration trying to capture a decent image in the dense forest under a heavy overcast. The top two images were taken with a flash. Thanks for the many appreciative comments about the Giant Pandas, but as some have noted, it's no challenge to click cute pix of them.

We have two at our local zoo. A third one died this summer. I have tried many times to photograph them but as you pointed out, its not easy. Great shots!

For me it´s always a treat when I get to see a animal I haven´t seen before. Thanks for that! About the overcast, I think you did a good job anyway.

Delightful images, it must have been grand to see them playing together! I like the third shot as it's so clear and shows a precious face.

I bet they just spray-painted a raccoon, no? Never saw one of those guys.

Das sind wirklich die natürlichen Farben des Katzenbären. Die Jungs sind schnell . Schwer zu fotografieren. Wirklich gut gemacht. These are really the natural colors of the cat bear. The guys are fast. Hard to take a photograph. Made really well.

You did well considering all the things that were against you getting a good shot.
