Description
"I tell doctors all the time I can't do MRIs because I have a metal pin in my ankle. I got the pin when I went in with a broken ankle a few years ago."
Laying with Ann on the bed in the intimacy of the evening moonlight Ann shares with us that about her ankle and that if you know anything about MRIs the pin in there would make for a hazardous situation if gotten near the MRI unit, since an MRI unit is essentially a series of big magnets. Well that's why there are metal detectors around and near the enterance of MRI exam rooms and generally doctors and technicians there souldn't let a patient get anywhere near a 'magnet room' if the metal detectors pick anything up.
Ann will also be pleased to know CT scan and spot X-ray are safe alternatives at most diagnostics imaging facilities.

Interestingly, I have a metal heart valve and I had an MRI a month or so ago with no ill effects :)

The metal valve you have might well be made of non-ferrous metal material, making it safe for MRI magnet zones.
