Description

...is that no matter how big you are, if you get too close they can be as deadly as anything else. Picture idea I've wanted to do for years but have been too lazy to attempt the modelling in Cinema4d...but I seem to have had a renewed drive recently and am enjoying myself again. The ship, soldiers and foreground (Using Hair for most of the grass) where rendered in four seperate passes in Cinema, composited in Photoshop and extensively overpainted. My thanks to Designfera, Diviney and Flink for their superb products that have helped me enormously. Thanks for looking...Ian (Oh, by the way, it's much better looked at full size, as you lose a lot of the detail at this resolution...the original is 6K across)

Super action scene. One thing strikes me though.....the clear stars/planets and the setting sun at the same time. Call me names and anything nasty but I think that's impossible.....or at least not anything I recall I've seen lately, on the other hand I see exploding spaceships all the time ;) Hope to se more from "your renewed drive" :)

In response to StoreThomas...yeah, now I come to think of it you're right...call it artistic license...I was after a certain mood and the laws of nature be damned...or more likely I just didn't think about it.

Great image! I've seen a number of images where the sky (higher up) is stars. Yeah probably not realistic, but it looks great.

Very interesting and well done illustration. Great lighting. It was small arms fire by the grunts on the ground that killed the Red Baron in WWI.

glad you found the energy to make this one.. a nice theme variation could be a hunter shooting ducks in 1951 .. accidentely shooting down a space machine :D well.. just an idea I got from looking at the small version.. It is cool as it is though
