Nicknamed the Flying Flea in the UK,this kit built aircraft of the 1930's was very dangerous.

People still build these (updated, safer design) and we have a couple near me in California. If the original version was adequately underpowered as originally designed and tested I understand they were safe enough.

Ha! Now here is one I have seen.. There is an original (possibly still in airworthy condition as most are there) at the Shuttleworth Collection, Bedfordshire, England.. I think there may be one at the Science museum, London as well.. (may!) A weird, really unsafe aircraft.. You had to be a pilot of some skill to manage one of these.. As it was a kit and anyone could built and fly it, you could see bodies and crashes all over the place.. Luckily (or not) it did not sell well.. It was one of the very first of its type though..
