Description

For most people in North America it's the "first robin of spring" that they look for, but my neighborhood has learned to keep an eye on my yard! Cars passing by slowed down as I was doing this, which is always lots of fun to watch. So, it's now "officially" spring in my neighborhood, even if the temperatures were well below freezing last night and we had snow falling yesterday. Those of you who've seen my rock-balancing pictures before know the drill, but for folks who're new to my "hobby", there's no Photoshop tricks, no glue or string or what-not. It's all just gravity and friction holding them up. And yes, the stack *seems* to be leaning, but look at the background, I didn't tilt the camera for that trick, the center of gravity on those rocks just makes it look like it's tilted.

If I were to try this, they'd just keep falling over :) Excellent POV as well, they look like huge boulders.

I was wondering when you'd get back to doing these.... The angle here makes this look absolutely epic! A great stack, and a great shot, Mike! That top stone looks like quartz from the chipped area at the upper left.

Nice work, well beyond the capabilities of mere mortals like myself. You have me wondering how big these rocks are, as the low angle creates the illusion that they are very heavy boulders that you would need machinery to lift...
