Description

Seth's family had farmed this land for over 100 years. Now the drought and Depression were about to end that legacy. Two years of failed crops had forced them to take out loans to survive. With the depressed economy, the banks weren't willing to give extensions anymore. They had three weeks to come up with the money or lose everything. History seems to repeat itself. SRG Seth can be found at YURdigital. You certainly put a lot of work into the detail of this set. I especially like the touch of the old, pedal-driven Singer sewing machine.

Great scene the curse of usury.. I learnt some interesting things about banking last night like they don't actually have any money and they on sell your "loan" to a 3rd party .. so any contract made with them doesn't belong to them any longer..

Principe europĂ©en : Un paysans ne peut pas perdre sa ferme ! Les banquiers n'y peuvent rien ! Il est peut-ĂȘtre temps de retraverser l'Atlantique. Great scene, Terri.

Realistic scene and true to life. The banks never learn and this scene repeats over and over.

Very nice image... But very sad theme... ---------------------------- As i growded up in a different social and economical system... I compare the situation of farmers with my experiences in agriculture ( no, i'm not an agriculturist - but my former institute developed technologies also for agriculure...) Single farms will have no future. Better are cooperations ( we called them LPG or KAP). A bit to much of Socialism? But - lay aside the blinkers of market ideology... Could we afford the takeover of food production by transnational corporations? Or will this destroy the basics of mankind?

Indeed, it does. The greedy get greedier, and the poor get poorer. It's a sad testament to our society that this scene is repeated over and over again. Very good work, Terri!
