Description

As a teen growing up in the 50/60s and dreaming about what it would be like to discover a hidden secret weapon, I am adding to last years "Dora awaits in her Tunnel" with this new work, "The Discovery" Based around the wonderful U99 model, I have cut it in half and modeled both an exposed end section as well as the surrounding Sub Pen bunker system that has been bombed at one end. The structure is over modeled with much detail not shown in this render. I have thought about providing this Sub Pen as a Vue model on C3D with anyone might be interested. As a two part model, the structure and the support system, there would be a lot of possibilities for any number of ships, E Boats etc. Be something new, outside my Brugge series.... a expand my horizons type of thing!! Just let me know.... and so zoom in to see all...

Great epic story going on here. Oh, yes I'm all for you "expanding your horizons" we all gain such benefits from that. The lighting in this scene is extraordinary, I love the bomb hole and the vines hanging down. Great job on that small lantern casting light on the stairs and letting us see the great detail even more. Beautiful work Don. Expand away...

The Flying boat is still in the works but at the time I did not have the shills to advance to the point I wanted... Look for it by Spring hopefully.

Wonderfully executed scene! Everything's spot-on, but what I like perhaps the most are the streaming light rays entering through the ceiling breach. Really leads the eye through the scene to wonder what awaits outside. Great work!!

O.M.G this brilliant, not sure you will ever top "Dora" but this is most definitely on a par.
