Description

Back in February 2002, the 2D Graphics forum Theme was to create a romantic image containing some flowers. I had an idea in mind (inspired by Maxfield Parrish's "Daybreak") and did what I could with it, but my tablet was broken at the time and everything was akilter due to The Neverending House Renovation Project, so I had to rely mainly on filter effects (you can see that version here). Although it received some very kind comments, I just wasn't happy with it. Nicely, I was able to return to the image 20 months later. Now *this* is much closer to my original plan for it. I become a happy camper. :) Tools: PlantStudio, Poser, Vue d'Esprit, Paint Shop Pro, Deep Paint

The "column" got to much weight. Lighten up (slightly) its shadows, reduce its ledges and dominant outline. Let the trees shadow cover the space under your signature and follow the direction of the other shadows. You might also add some more of these darker leaves on the right side down to the third of the picture (to get a right frame). Sorry - hope i didn't offend you but just couldn't shut up when i saw this otherwise real fine piece of art.

Beautiful work! I adore the blue tinge with the opposing light radiating through with gold. Thank you so much for toiling over this great image :D

I have to agree that the shadow bias is a little too hard, but otherwise this is very dreamy and exceptionally beautiful. I often do re-works so I share your enthusiasm for seeing something come out the way you want and I'm glad you re-worked it.

Really beautiful image... Wow. Just for curiosity, would it look even better with more height? More of that tree/flower/foliage mix... Maybe some subtle sky trick? But it's wonderful as it is.

One small crit, the background colour is too close to the foreground colour, More depth would be good , Do we critique on this site? Otherwisw a great setting and nicely worked
