Description
A few years ago, I discovered an old barn on the beach where I spend so much time. When I first started exploring it, the structure was intact, and still being used. One winter we had HUGE surf and I couldn't get out there for a couple of months. When I finally did, this is what I found. Today, there's not a trace of it left. One of the big reasons for that is the dunes that protected it were also wiped out in the surf. Instead of nearly a half a mile of them starting at the parking lot, you have to walk a long way to get to what's left. Mother Nature doesn't fool around!!

I remember those photos! Fascinating. There is hope for the earth yet, nature may wipe out of trace of us humans and will make a fresh start.

This is a wonderful picture but loving nature as I do I can only hope this rust bucket wasn't washed out to sea :(

Well! Andrea expressed a positive view! Lol...now I'll just go and jump off a bridge...I remember this barn series as well, and I remember all the variations you got on it, and how you stood under it even when it was crumbling---it takes guts to do that. And you even climbed up things to get better views of it. I was impressed with your efforts, and with your wonderful shots of a barn in each state of decay. But now at last we get to see its final 'bones', its last remnants with the rest eaten up and taken away by the sea and sand. A fine montage. And I love the top right---that's a decayed structure! With graffiti on it. And the light on the lower right shot is almost jaundiced and eerie. While the top-left shot looks like a bone 'layout' from an archaeological dig. Wonderful conclusion to this long story. (And you put the 4 pics against the top left shot. Nice touch!) It's always good to see you back here, if even just for a few shots. You always bring a unique vision to this place, and your unique airborne energy!

Nature will have her way, we foolish humans still keep trying to outdo her and she always eventually shows us who is boss! Lovely documentation!
