Description

Molly has graced my gallery previously. She is most photogenic, the best lap kitty, very sweet. She is 4 years old and dying. This is surely the Autumn of her life. I took her outside today. Her weak body took her down two steps to the grass, moss and fallen leaves of the season. I picked her up and put her on a patch of soft moss. As her head dropped to the moss and she looked at me then let her eyes almost shut, I knew the weakness had gotten to her drastically. You see, she was given a difficult road from the beginning and we have no idea why. Her thyroid needed meds from age 2 1/2 and that is generally a disease of elderly cats. Then a few months ago, we found out she had a growth in one lung and that lung was removed. Everyone thought she now has several years to go. Autumn is here too soon. This is one photographer who is unable to use the viewfinder when tears cloud the eyes. We will wait for the end or if she suffers, will assist in that. Yes, Autumn came much, much too early for sweet Molly.

I am really sorry to read this of your poor Molley. She is a beautiful little girl and I think that she was blessed to find such a loving home as you have provided and that you did not give up on her as so many would. This is a really lovely shot, one that you will cherish and I know she will live in your heart forever.

As one who loves cats I found this very hard to take. I was blessed to have mine for nineteen years but letting go was still almost unbearable.
