I just had to post this...
There's a tiny ice cream parlor in Palmyra, New York, called Chill-n-Grill. It's become known throughout the world for their "small" ice cream cone (see picture). Yes, "That's a small!" (That's a Small? is their motto.)
As the owner says, "We don't sell ice cream. We sell smiles."
He started the business so his children would have summer jobs. It was so successful he's only open April-October. Every year they put a new map on the wall and encourage people to place a push-pin showing where their home is. By the end of the season the map has clusters of dots all over. (Most popular location people visit from is Utah... after all, Utah consumes more ice cream per capita than any place else!)
For me, I tried a small once and realized it was too much. I now ask for a 1/2 of a Kiddie Cone (2 scoops. A kiddie is 3. Not sure about their math.)
